Clifcat cycles started in 1998 with the first jackshaft big travel frame with progressive linkage and hand welded and fabricated in new york! Then again in 1999 and as well in 2000. We decided to make the battleaxe again but perfectly engineered to be the ultimate superbike, and we can proudly say we are still making frames in new york! And it is 100% true.. We are sad to say, but much of our competition is having top priced frames made in taiwan!

The new 2007 battleaxe is the most exotic and hand built superbike frame possibly ever built... and now they are available as a custom. We like to support our friends and vendors by designing the frame around a 100% “profile” jackshaft “nanodrive” drivetrain for almost a foot of ground clearance and “e.thirteen” lg1 chainguide for the best chain retension.

This frame has the strongest progressive linkage available on a mountainbike. The pivot and linkage rocker uses full compliment needle bearings with dust caps and o-ring seals. The rear shock has a huge 3 1/2" stroke and 9 1/2” of travel to provide a nice low spring rate and compression ratio.

The floating rear brake is cnc machined and uses a titanium floater rod. The frame has an integrated uhmw plastic grind plate to protect the chainring. Frame also equipped with a replaceable stainless steel derailleur hanger.
